I have been in practice working with couples and individuals for over 38 years. My training in Somatic Experiencing and Somatic Experiencing Touch allows my work to unfold more safely and efficiently.
Working short-term can be useful for people wanting to address specific, single-incident issues. I also provide a more long-term focus for those interested in exploring developmental and attachment issues, beginning with our families of origin.
I see a diverse population of people struggling with issues around:
- relationships
- family
- self esteem
- anxiety
- depression
- addictions
- co-dependency
- life transitions
- trauma: developmental, early childhood, surgery, car accidents, falls, life events, syndromes, chronic pain, arthritis, irritable bowel, etc.
- aging
- money
- sex
- racism
- homophobia
I offer two types of services that help with traumatic life events. Both work well with issues of early childhood as well as difficult experiences at any stage of life.
Somatic Experiencing Psychotherapy: You learn to track sensations in your body, as well as make room for any accompanying emotions. I can help you renegotiate the trauma, emotional or physical, by working through the stuck places in your body's nervous system.
During the pandemic, I have continued my therapeutic work on Zoom
Somatic Experiencing Touch Psychotherapy: I help you become more resilient to traumatic experiences, including illness, syndromes, falls, car accidents, and surgeries. This is done mainly lying on a treatment table, using gentle touched-based methods. This work helps you increase your capacity to manage anxiety and stress.
